Today I had a dreaded dental appt. (if you had my teeth, you'd dread the dentist too!) and John was going solo with Ambrose while I would be away. Along with trying to get myself out the door in time to check into the dental clinic a full 15 minutes before my appt, ( why they do that I have no idea because it's not like they see you even remotely around when your scheduled appt. ) I was trying to help John get everything together so as to make his time with the little guys a little easier. I walk down stairs, put my shoes on, and start to mosey out the door when I hear John call for me in a semi frantic voice.
I run upstairs and see Ambrose on the changing table and John desperately trying to wrestle Ambrose's hands away from his nether regions. He asks me to take over the hands while he works on the diaper. John has changed many a diaper and hasn't ever needed this kind of help in the past, however, when I look down I see exactly why he has called for reinforcements. Ambrose has just had the biggest poop of his life, as he should since he hasn't pooped in 4 days! The diaper has exploded, Ambrose has poop up his belly, up his back and down both legs. Ugh.
John starts the cleaning process, all the while I am no help at all because I am dying laughing. All of you who know John know that he is a slight germaphobe and neat freak and this is killing him! He wipes up one leg and grabs onto a more "chunky" piece of poop, and somewhere from the time he wipes it off Ambrose to the time he goes to throw it away he looses that little piece of poop. He's frantically looking for it and we find it stuck to Ambrose's toe....eww, as if he doesn't have enough poop on him, we're depositing it in new places!
We decide that the best plan of attack is to bathe him rather than use every last wipe in the nursery. I help get him undressed and John looks at me and says "So do you think that we should wash the onsie by itself or just throw it away." Can you imagine how many articles of clothing we'd throw away if he was in charge around here :)

First Date
Thanks to my wonderful mother, John and I headed out on our first real date since Ambrose joined our family. We went to Zen, a delicious restaurant with a wonderful view, but lets be real, they have a wine list and that was exactly what I was looking for.

Our first date was a night of firsts.
It was the first time...
It was the first time...
* I wore a nursing bra on a date (sexy!).
* I couldn't get my mind of another (little) man.
* I got ready for a date in less than 10 minutes (yet didn't leave for over an hour).
* I wore high heels in over 9 months.
While John and I headed out on our date, mom and Ambrose and a date of their own.

A few pics
The past week has been WONDERFUL... my mom is here! It's like having my very own baby whisperer on my couch. She's been a huge help and has given us so many other "tools" to use to try and soothe our sweet boy. I just realized however, I don't have any pics of her and Ambrose, I had better get on that!

Lucky for me, he likes his carseat and car rides.

Some much loved Daddy time.
Even in utero, Ambrose loved to have his hands up by his head or face.
Enough of those pictures already!

Out of desperation one night, we discovered Amrbose likes being bounced on the ball. Needless to say, we have spend a TON of time on this ball!

3 weeks already, time is going WAY too fast!
